Supporting feature — not investment adviceSmartStrikes reads your account through credentials you create yourself, scoped how you choose. Here's exactly what that involves and what protects it.
SmartStrikes Lite works from the positions you import from your broker's CSV exports, with prices from your own free Alpaca account. An Alpaca paper account needs only an email, and the app walks you through getting the key. Stock prices are real; option prices on Alpaca's free data are estimates.
SmartStrikes Pro connects to your own tastytrade account for live streamed prices, real option quotes, IV Rank, earnings and your live positions. Without it, Pro runs on an Alpaca key like Lite, with the Research tab.
Sign-in to SmartStrikes itself is handled through Google. It's the only sign-in method currently supported, and it's what your stored connection is keyed to, so only you can reach it.
Because you create OAuth credentials on tastytrade's site, your actual brokerage login never passes through SmartStrikes at all.
SmartStrikes accepts only a read-only grant, and every feature works with one. SmartStrikes never places, routes, or transmits an order — you trade in your own broker, as always.
Stored grants are sealed with AES-256-GCM under a server secret that is never stored alongside them. The stored data alone is unusable.
The only credential your browser holds is an access token that expires in minutes — so even a compromised page has nothing durable to steal.
Disconnect from inside SmartStrikes, or revoke the grant from tastytrade's side. Either one cuts access immediately and permanently.
If tastytrade ever rejects a stored grant, it's deleted rather than retried — you're asked to reconnect instead of leaving a dead credential sitting around.
Your positions, transactions, and results exist for one purpose: showing them back to you inside the app. We do not sell personal information, and we never share your financial data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketers — there is no version of this product where your trading history is the thing being monetized. Your subscription is.
The only outside parties involved are the providers required to run the service — hosting (Cloudflare), sign-in and delivery of parts of the app (Google), payments (Stripe) and, for in-app help questions, Anthropic — each limited to what its function requires. The one exception is entirely yours to make: if you turn on the optional AI analysis using your own API key, the positions you ask about are sent to the provider you chose. Leave it off and nothing goes to any AI provider. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
SmartStrikes is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by tastytrade, Fidelity, or any other broker. Your relationship with your broker is governed solely by your agreements with them.

Alpaca's free market data gives indicative option prices: values worked out from a pricing model using the stock's price and volatility, not the real bids and offers on the options exchanges. They're usually close, but can be off, especially for options that trade rarely or are far from the stock price. Stock prices are real. Pro with a connected tastytrade account streams real exchange quotes.
Live, reconciled account data from tastytrade today, plus CSV import from Fidelity and tastytrade exports. The underlying architecture is built to add more brokers over time.
Stocks and ETFs, and their options: the instruments the wheel strategy is built around. Futures and options on futures aren't supported yet. Cash-settled index options, such as SPX or VIX, can be viewed but not wheeled, since there are never shares to be assigned.

Your tastytrade password is never entered into SmartStrikes at all — you create your own OAuth credentials on tastytrade's site, with read-only scope, which SmartStrikes requires and every feature works with. Those credentials leave your browser once and are never returned to it; they're encrypted at rest server-side, and your browser only ever holds an access token that expires in minutes.
