General
General holds the settings that shape the whole app.
Privacy
Settings → General → Privacy → Privacy mode hides account numbers on screen, showing only the last 3 digits (••••345), for screen sharing and screenshots. It changes only what's shown, and stays in this browser rather than syncing.
Options tab targets
These drive the Options tab's opportunity highlights (the blue and purple tints on strike rows) and the C and P badges in each expiration header. A strike is highlighted only when it's out of the money and meets both its side's CAGR target and the delta limit.
| Setting | Starts at | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Min put CAGR % | 40.0 | The lowest annualized return a put must pay, on the strike's capital, to be highlighted. |
| Min call CAGR % | Your put value | The same for calls. Until you change it, it matches Min put CAGR %. |
| Max |Delta| | 0.20 | The largest delta (ignoring sign) a highlighted strike may have. Smaller keeps highlights further out of the money. |
| Opportunity Bar Preference | Prefer Furthest OTM | How the bar under each C and P badge is ranked across expirations: furthest out of the money, or highest CAGR. |
Options explains the highlights and badges in full.
Tranches
- Show price vs. break-even (on to start) colours the Break-Even value on each tranche in Analysis → Tranches, with ▲, ▼ or ≈ showing whether the price is above, below or close to it. Turn it off for plain numbers.
- Break-even basis chooses which trades a stock's break-even counts: Whole position since last flat (the default: every trade since you last held no shares) or Open positions only. It affects every break-even in the app: the Tranches view, the options table's tranche lanes, the chart's break-even bars and AI Analysis.
Capital allocation
These control the capital allocation gauge in the header. Use NASDAQ ~30D volatility bases it on QQQ's implied volatility instead of the VIX, and Show ticks and labels on the gauge marks each band's boundary.
Security & account
This is where you manage your PIN, your data, your connections and your plan. Privacy and security explains the protections behind them.
- Lock after an hour of inactivity (on to start) covers the app with the PIN screen after an hour without input. Live data keeps streaming behind it.
- Keep my data when signing out (off to start) skips the sign-out question and always keeps your encrypted data in this browser.
- Change PIN sets a new 6-digit PIN, effective in every browser at once.
- Sync settings across browsers keeps your analysis, research and options settings, and your Alpaca key, the same wherever you sign in. A change in one browser shows in another the next time that page loads. Imports never sync, and privacy mode, the hourly lock and the sign-out choice stay per browser on purpose. Sync AI endpoints, shown while sync is on, carries your AI endpoints and their keys too.
- Tastytrade connection: Reconnect or switch returns to the Tastytrade login with the saved connection kept; Disconnect Tastytrade forgets it.
- Market data (Alpaca): add, test, replace or remove your free Alpaca key, which supplies prices when Tastytrade isn't connected. How to get a free key shows the steps.
- Subscription: a line shows your plan and where it stands, such as a renewal date or when a trial ends. Here you can Upgrade to Pro or Switch to Lite (see Lite and Pro), and Manage subscription opens the billing portal in a new tab for payment details, monthly or yearly billing, and cancelling.
Analysis
The settings behind the Analysis tab. You can also reach this page from the Analysis tab's own Settings entry. Until you've run an analysis, it only asks you to run one.
AI endpoints
AI Analysis runs on an AI model you choose and pay for. Add endpoint starts from a preset (Anthropic, OpenAI or Local) that fills in everything except your API key, which you get from your provider's account page. Tap Test endpoint, then Save. AI Analysis is enabled once at least one endpoint has passed its test, and Active endpoint picks which one runs. See AI Analysis.
Importing accounts
Import Additional Account adds an account from a Fidelity or Tastytrade transaction CSV export. See Importing.
Account cards
Each account SmartStrikes has seen gets a card, tagged as a live or imported account. Depending on the kind, a card holds:
- Transaction range to fetch (live account): how far back to read Tastytrade transactions, from 7 days to 1 year, Year to Date by default.
- Update Import (imported account): bring in a newer export of the same account. It suggests the next numbered copy of the last file you imported.
- Net Liquidating Value (imported account): the account value used for return calculations and the Capital % column.
- Pre-import transactions: an extra CSV of older history, merged in before the account's own transactions.
- Warning Level Settings: the thresholds that colour cells amber or red in the Contracts, Long Contracts and Tranches tables, such as days to expiration, distance from the strike, returns, and % P/L. Clear a field to turn that warning off. Copy Settings copies them to your other accounts.
- Export analysis JSON saves the account's analysis as a file, and the trash icon deletes the account's saved settings and imported data.
Research
Research has two indicator choices, each a pair of buttons: MA (Moving Averages) and TBO (TBO Trend Cloud). Both start on TBO.
- Screener indicator decides how the Scanner's Phase 2 scores and ranks the trend. TBO reads it from a trend cloud and also gives each stock a Put Score and a Call Score; MA reads it from the 50- and 200-day moving averages. Neither is better in general, and a stock can pass under one and fail under the other. Switching re-scores the current results straight away, with no rescan.
- Chart indicator is the overlay drawn on the price chart. It's the same setting as the Indicator: buttons on the Chart tab, and doesn't affect the Scanner.
The Screener indicator is the only Scanner setting; the Scanner's other weights and filters are fixed. Research lists them.
